Cigarette cards
How do we manage now without cigarette cards?
They were a mine of useful information.
The first one shows how to avoid getting superfluous paint on the floor boards whilst painting the skirting boards, using only a piece of metal sheet.
The second one shows us the workings of an acetylene lamp, which according to the card are very useful for bikes and motorcars.
The third shows three ways to secure your house, securing keys by stout spring wire, a wooden block to stop window catches being forced and a stout wedge to keep a door shut...a lot of things must have been "stout" in those days.....
Michael found a box of these cards today at the boot sale on the donkey farm..I stole these from it..
