Railway Carriage Key
I found this on the boot sale at Weaverham High school on Sunday. It was VERY rusty and cost the sum of fifity of your pennies. I cleaned it up a little with oil and a light sandpaper as I wanted to read the marks on it.
It was made by Thewlis & Co from Warrington. After a little searching online I have established it is a railway carriage key. The house we live in belonged firstly to a railway worker, so I like to think he may have owned it or one just like it..you never know...
