Jiggers (obverse) INSTRUCTIONS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING JIGGERS.
1.PREPARE WIRES TO BE SPLICED IN THE USUAL MANNER.
2.BREAK OFF CAP FROM JIGGER WITH THUMBNAIL OR KNIFE.
3.INSERT SPLICED WIRESIN OPENING INJIGGER, PUSHING ALL THE WAY IN.
4.TOUCJ LIGHTED MATCHTO OTHER END OF JIGGER. JIGGER WITH IGNITE AND BURN.
5.WHEN JIGGER HAS BURNED OUT REMOVE BURNT SHELL FROM SPLICE.
6.YOU THEN HAVE A PERFECT SOLDERED SPLICE READY FOR TAPING.
IMPORTANT:
Surfaces close to soldering operation should be shielded from the heat and slight smoke of the burning Jigger. Areas directly below should be covered in case any part of hot Jigger accidently drops.

I remember when we changed from shillings to new pence..I was at primary school. I can remember being very grateful for the change as I could never get the hang of my twelve times table..still havn't. I clearly remember thinking , thank goodness I never have to learn that.
17 shillings = 85 new pence.
