Not Made of metal. A close-up of the back of the folding spoon. A beautiful and yet simple design..it clicks into the working spoon..with an anti-fold "lock" all made out of one piece of plastic. A miracle of plastic engineering.
This set of Football makers tools is from the Museum of Liverpool life, situated on the docks. I should do another blog.. My favourite museum exhibits!
This is a very delicate metal cake tester that was brought back from the U S of A by Jane Brake. my mom used a thin Knitting needle to test her cakes. But this has a feel of being just right for the job. CAKE TESTER is stamped on the top. (sorry about blurry photo..)
This is one of my favourite exhibits from the War Museum North. It is a genuine piece of Zeppeline wire attatched to a pin so that it can be worn. It comes with a Guarantee certificate to prove it is the genuine article. Produced by the Red cross to raise money. (I gave Michael a piece of genuine Berlin Wall, it wasn't just any old lump of concrete! It is numbered and also has a certificate of proof!!)
A heavy brass tap off a beer barrel. Found at Anderton boot fair from an old man who looked as if he had emptied his garage onto the table.. No writing on it anywhere.

A small pile of lead buttons tied up with green garden wire. I can only pressume they are some kind of weights. Why sew lead buttons to your coat? They are covered in a series of bumps and scratches
A detail of the cake icing set I wanted to include (due to the nature of the blog the cake icing set is in the archives). My Grandmar used to ice wedding cakes for the Co-op.So I feel a strange affinity to these.
